Episode98

A NEW SEASON IS HERE –

I am a certified intuitive eating counselor and coach and my focus with women is helping them to redefine their health. I wanted to bring all that I do, the work that I’m passionate about and keep it as our focus on this podcast.

Now you’ll notice that the podcast name is health life and more, which has not changed because I believe that when all things are in alignment, we do live out our best life. My focus though is on health. But even that word has been muddied up by diet culture. So when we talk about health, I believe we do need to talk about our mental health, spiritual health, our emotional health, along with our physical health.

Tune in to the episode to hear not only the brand new intro, but details on what to expect from season 3 of the podcast!

FULL TRANSCRIPT

Well, Hey there, welcome to episode 98 of the health life and more for women podcast. I’m your host, Jennifer D’Amato and I have been looking forward to this episode for months. Yeah, I have had this vision coming for what season three on this podcast is going to look like, and I promise you, the changes are not going to make you run any other direction. It’s still me. I’m still here and I’m still bringing you all the truth, the real things, but our spin might feel a little different. It might feel a little different if you come on here and you just want the parenting guru. Okay. I’m not a guru, but I’ve been parenting for 16 years, I know a couple of things that might help you. But if you come on here to hear guests that are talking about a variety of topics, again, this might be a shift that you just need to give some space and be open to.

Now, you know, I am a certified intuitive eating counselor. I am a coach and my focus with women is helping them to redefine their health. Well, I really wanted to bring all that I do, the work that I’m passionate about and keep it as our focus on this podcast. Now you’ll notice that the podcast name is health life and more. I believe that when all things are in alignment, we do live out our best life. My focus though is on health. But even that word has been muddied up by diet culture. So when we talk about health, I believe we do need to talk about our mental health. We also need to talk about our spiritual health, our emotional health, along with our physical health.

So I’m considering new guests, which I do have three lined up as of right now, we’re going to be talking about body image. We’re going to talk about intuitive eating, and we’re definitely going to talk about things from an anti diet culture perspective. Again, this is not anything new to the podcast, but it has not been the main focus. You know, we’ve talked about marriage on here. We’ve talked about parenting a lot. And of course I always bring a health spin into everything, but moving forward, the change will be reflected in our episodes where the main focus is talking about health. And I want you to see how that benefits the whole rest of your life.

Now, without further ado, I want to introduce you to my new intro. Are you ready? All right, here it is. “Welcome to the health life and more for women podcast. My name is Jennifer DAmato a certified, intuitive eating counselor, coach, mom of four, lover of all things pink, and I want you to live your best health and your best life. I believe the way we can all do that is by finally walking away from diet culture. By relearning what your body needs, reconnecting with your body’s biological signals and redefining what health is on your terms. This show will shed some light on sneaky ways diet culture has infiltrated your thoughts, your family, and your wellbeing. My heart is that no matter the episode, you walk away feeling informed, inspired, and encouraged. Let’s go.”

Well, how about that for a very fun way to introduce season three? I’m so excited. I’m excited to dive into these three elements that I utilize within my practice. Relearn, reconnect and redefine. These three elements are exactly what we are looking for when we walk away from diet culture. We need to relearn what our body needs and wants. Reconnect with our biological signals. Remember feeling hungry? What does it feel like to be full or satisfied? And redefine health. This is where gentle nutrition movement and how you speak to yourself is so important to address. I cannot wait for every episode this season. I can’t wait for every guest, the ones that are already lined up and the ones who I know are out there ready to share some wisdom and some words of encouragement and information with you.

All right, here’s to season three and here’s to you. Can’t wait for next week, until then. After that episode, you might be wondering what’s next. Well, don’t worry. I’ve got you.
